Role

A once-in-a-generation development is underway in East Birmingham.

The Birmingham Sports Quarter is a major sport-led regeneration programme that will play a significant role in reshaping the city’s built environment and supporting long-term economic growth. The scheme brings together world-class sporting infrastructure, new residential neighbourhoods, and enhanced connectivity to create a sustainable, mixed-use destination.

The project represents a landmark £1.2bn+ investment in Bordesley Green and East Birmingham, positioning sport as a driver of regeneration and place-making. At its core is a new 60,000–62,000-seat, state-of-the-art stadium for Birmingham City Football Club, designed by Heatherwick Studio to replace St Andrew’s.

Beyond the primary stadium, the masterplan includes a 10,000-seat women’s stadium, an 18,000-capacity indoor arena, residential and retail development, and supporting infrastructure, with the potential to create over 8,400 jobs annually. With completion targeted for the 2029–30 or 2030–31 season, the Birmingham Sports Quarter represents a transformative investment in the city’s sporting, cultural, and economic landscape.

Vista is proud to support the project through the provision of ongoing compliance consultancy services, ensuring that safety, regulatory, and design risk considerations are fully integrated throughout all stages of this complex development.
